Part 2: My twin daughters walked down the aisle toward the altar… and the billionaire groom froze as if he had seen ghosts.

PART 2

Just hearing the name Rachel Monroe spoken aloud brought back a past I believed I had left behind forever.

Very few people still knew that identity, and I never imagined anyone could find me after all these years.

Betty stood frozen in the living room while Maria quietly stepped closer, trying to understand why my expression had suddenly changed.

Then the familiar voice on the phone broke the silence.

“Rachel… I never forgot you. I’ve been looking for you for years.”

Those few words were enough to awaken memories I had spent years trying to bury.

A few minutes later, a long black limousine pulled up outside the house.

A man stepped out slowly.

Time had changed his appearance, but I recognized his eyes immediately.

In his hands, he carried a tiny pair of baby shoes that had been carefully preserved for years.

The moment I saw them, I understood why he had come.

I gently asked the girls to go to their room for a little while.

They obeyed, although the worry on their faces was impossible to hide.

As soon as they closed the bedroom door, I finally opened the front door.

Daniel stood there in silence for several seconds.

It seemed as though he was searching for the right words.

“I know this visit is unexpected,” he said quietly. “But I’ve recently uncovered information that has made me question everything I thought I knew.”

I remained silent.

For a long time, I had believed our story belonged entirely to the past.

Yet seeing him standing there proved that some chapters are never truly over.

We sat down in the living room.

Daniel explained that several documents had been discovered over the past few months.

After reviewing them, he realized that many of the decisions made years earlier had been based on incomplete—or even incorrect—information.

The deeper he investigated, the more he realized that the past was very different from the story he had been told.
