Before leaving, her mother reminded her:
“It’s going to be very hot today. Take some water with you, stay in the shade when you can, and remember to take breaks.”
Emma smiled and promised to be careful.
When she arrived at the park, her friends were already waiting for her. They spent the morning talking, laughing, walking around, and playing games.
At first, Emma felt completely fine.
The weather was warm, but she was having so much fun that she didn’t pay much attention to the heat. She stayed outside for a long time and forgot to drink enough water.
After several hours, Emma began to feel tired. She stopped playing and sat down on a bench.
Her friend Sarah noticed her.
“Emma, you look tired. Are you okay?”
“I think I just need to rest,” Emma replied.
Sarah looked at the strong sunlight and remembered Emma’s mother’s advice.
“Let’s move somewhere cooler.”
They walked to a shaded area beneath a large tree. Emma sat down, drank some water, and rested quietly.
After some time, she started feeling better.
“I didn’t realize how strong the heat was,” Emma said.
Sarah smiled.
“Sometimes we’re having so much fun that we forget to take care of ourselves.”
Emma nodded.
“You’re right. Next time, I’ll make sure to drink enough water and take regular breaks.”
Later that afternoon, they decided to go home instead of staying outside.
